A Single-Table Satellite is a single-table tournament seating ten players with the sole purpose of awarding seats into
Qualifiers, side events, or the Main Event. Properties may also choose to award tournament vouchers or cash.
To play, add your name to the list at the poker podium. Single-Table Satellites begin
when ten people have signed up.
A Multi-Table Qualifier is a multi-table tournament awarding seats to side events and the Main Event. HPT
offers several types of qualifiers. Buy-in amounts and number of seats awarded can be found on the schedules for each individual event.
Skipping the satellite system and buying directly into an event is called a Direct Buy. Details on prize pool information, including deduction information, can be found on each event's structure sheet.
Most satellites eventually lead to the Main Event (ME), but you may also buy directly in. HPT Main Events are multiple day tournaments with a nationally televised Final Table. Day 1 is typically split into two or more different start times
over multiple days. If you are buying into the Main Event, you may enter any flight you choose. If you
win your way in through a satellite, your flight may be randomly assigned. (Best efforts are made to
accommodate requests in the event of a scheduling conflict.). If space permits, players are allowed to
re-enter Main Event flights if they are eliminated before the late registration cut off. Remaining players at the end of Day 1 advance to Day 2.
Play continues on Day 2 until the field is reduced to 9 players. The final 9 will return for TV production on
A flight is the group of players who start together on Day 1. All remaining players from Day 1 flights are
combined for Day 2 play.

Players must sign a TV Release form prior to entering their first tournament for each tour stop. By signing the form, players acknowledge we will be filming and photographing them in the tournament area. Players may view the full agreements and form here.

After signing a TV Release form, the casino will apply an “HPT Verified Player” sticker to your Players’ Card. If you enter more than one tournament during a single event, this will show you have already filled out a release form and do not need to complete it a second time.
