The Ameristar St. Charles series just outside of St. Louis kicked off this weekend. The opening event drew 616 total entries. That created a total prize pool of $184,800.
80 players returned for Day 2 today. The field has already been thinned out to the final 45 and they're all gunning for the $41,583 up top.
There are still quite a few notables left in the field including Dennis Phillips (pictured), Greg Radosh and Jeff Copeland.

This weekend Hollywood Casino Columbus will host the first televised poker event in Ohio history. The Heartland Poker Tour $1,650 Main Event kicks off with the first of three starting flights Thursday at 2pm. Flights B and C are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, both noon starts. Greg Wood made the best of his second appearance at a nationally televised HPT final table in two weeks Monday when he beat out the competition to win $119,101. Wood will also collect a $3,500 championship package for his efforts.Read more
